Home School Science (Ages 8-12)

Friday, November 10, 2017:  “Bird Brains” Discover the world of birds as we study the field of ornithology. We’ll learn key marks for visual identification, songs of several birds for birding by ear, and how to use binoculars correctly.  Register online for this program.

  10:00 a.m. - Noon
Fee: $4 ACC student per class, $6 Non-resident student per class. Preregistration required one day in advance.
Registration:  Online registration is required and begins Saturday, August 5 at 9:00 a.m. for ACC residents.  Non-residents may register starting  Monday, August 7 at noon.

January 11, 2018:  River of Words:  Immerse yourself in your local watershed.  Use your senses to understand the importance of water and the surrounding habitat.  Express your newfound knowledge through poetry or art.  Parents will be encourage to enter the artwork into the River of Words contest from Project Wet.  Register online for this program.

February 8, 2018: Junior Duck Stamps: Learn about the local waterfowl at Sandy Creek Nature Center and then create art.  Parents are encouraged to enter artwork in to the Junior Duck Stamp competition through Fish and Wildlife Service.  Register online for this program.
